Marcus Mariota practices on Thursday, appears ready for fantasy comeback
Tennessee Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota has now practiced for two straight days and appears to be nearing a return. We break down the fantasy implications.
Fantasy impact: Zach Mettenberger didn’t exactly wow anybody while filling in for Mariota last week against the Atlanta Falcons, although to his credit he did give the Titans a chance to win.
With Mariota now expected to play against the Houston Texans, the winner of the game should be decided by which team does better passing the ball. Mariota has struggled in each of his last two starts, so hopefully he is able to turn things around against a Texans defense that gives up the second-most fantasy points to quarterbacks.
Fantasy owners who have held on to Mariota through his early-season ups and downs and his injury woes can go ahead and plug him into the starting line up if need be. That said, putting him in is probably only a necessity in deeper leagues at this point.
