Ben Roethlisberger practices without any issues on Thursday, finally returning for fantasy owners
Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is ready to make a return to the lineup. We break down the fantasy implications.
Fantasy impact: The Pittsburgh Steelers organization and its fans should be jumping for joy right now, because the team no longer has to gamble on Mike Vick or Landry Jones at quarterback.
Vick was less than spectacular before going down with an injury himself, although it wasn’t all his fault because the Steelers built a conservative game plan around him. Jones played well while filling in for both veterans, but he’s far from seasoned at the pro level. Steelers receivers struggled without Roethlisberger in the lineup, especially Antonio Brown.
The one guy who seemed to click with Landry Jones was Martavis Bryant, but fantasy owners of Bryant should know that he also did really well with Big Ben last year. It’s time to get excited again about anybody who’s catching passes from Roethlisberger. Sunday’s matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals is a huge game and it just got a lot more interesting.
