New York Giants receiver Victor Cruz will not play on Sunday against the Buffalo Bills. He has been doing some workouts, but does not have a timetable to return.
Victor Cruz injury update: Not worth owning in fantasy
Victor Cruz is not close to returning. We break down the fantasy implications.
Cruz tore his patellar tendon last year and has not played since. There hasn’t been much optimism around Cruz and a report this week said he could be out “for awhile.“
With Cruz out, receiver Rueben Randle is finally starting to step up. He was expected to have a big 2014 season, but it just didn't happen. Randle is coming of a seven-catch, 116-yard game on Sunday while scoring his first TD. He should have another nice day.
The Buffalo Bills are getting a lot of press for their defense, but they are giving up some big days to receivers. In PPR leagues, they are the third-easiest matchup with Miami Dolphins receiver Rishard Matthews lighting them up in Week 3.
Fantasy impact: If you own Cruz, cut him right now. Randle is a decent WR3 this week, but is far from a must-play guy. He could be a nice GPP play in FanDuel.
