Drew Brees injury update: QB probable for Saints, fantasy owners
New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees is listed as probable for Week 4. We break down the fantasy implications.
Fantasy impact: After missing Week 3, Brees will return to action against the Cowboys. As expected, the losses of star tight end Jimmy Graham and deep threat Kenny Stills has taken its toll on the offense. Through two games, Brees is averaging 305 yards passing, one touchdown and one interception. The offense has also been leaning more heavily on the running game, led by Mark Ingram and C.J. Spiller.
With youngsters Brandin Cooks and Brandon Coleman as his only legitimate receiving threats, Brees shouldn’t be expected to shoulder the fantasy load we’ve come to expect from him over the years. He also has a tougher test ahead of him in the Cowboys, whose defense allows the seventh-fewest fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks. Brees remains a low-end QB1.
