Ronnie Hillman provided a much-needed spark for the Denver Broncos backfield on Sunday afternoon. Hillman rushed for 103 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries against the Minnesota Vikings. He also caught one pass for five yards. Hillman's backfield counterpart, C.J. Anderson, was also given 11 carries but rushed for just 43 yards. It was the first game all season that the Broncos had more than 100 rushing yards as a team.
Ronnie Hillman provides spark in Broncos run game, among top waiver wire grabs
Ronnie Hillman had a big Week 4 performance. We take a look at the fantasy implications.

It's worth noting that, without Hillman's 72-yard touchdown, he would have managed just 31 yards on 10 carries. Regardless, HIllman's big play in the second quarter is something the Broncos haven't been able to get out of their backfield so far this season. The Broncos may be reevaluating their depth chart in favor of Hillman before they face the Oakland Raiders in Week 5.
Fantasy impact: The Anderson/Hillman fiasco has been completely frustrating for fantasy owners in 2015. Anderson hasn’t rushed for more than 43 yards all season after being drafted by many fantasy owners in the first round. Hillman hasn’t done much better, but Sunday’s 72-yard touchdown is at least proof to the coaching staff that Hillman can create big plays once in awhile. Neither running back can be trusted as more than a flex, but Hillman has the edge at this point. Hillman is owned in just 34 percent of (Yahoo!) leagues right now. Anderson is owned in nearly 100 percent of leagues. Hillman should be scooped up if you’re in need of running back depth.
