The Denver Broncos could be shifting their plan on the running back depth chart. There is a very good chance that Ronnie Hillman starts and becomes the lead back over C.J. Anderson, according to some reports.
Fantasy football start/sit, Week 8: C.J. Anderson and Ronnie Hillman splitting carries
The Broncos are going to split the carries this week. We break down the fantasy implications.
The Broncos are coming off a bye, so that gave them two weeks to adjust their plan. In the previous week, Ronnie Hillman had 23 touches to Anderson’s 17. Plus, Hillman had eight of those carries go for at least five yards in that game, which is more than half of Anderson’s 13 of such carries on the season.
There is a little risk when starting a timeshare back and there is even more with the Green Bay Packers coming to town and shutting down several running backs. They have not allowed a running back TD since Week 3, which makes sense because their offense puts them so far ahead.
Fantasy impact: You can’t start Anderson, but Hillman is a low-end RB2 because the Broncos are going to want to run the ball.
