Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Leonard Hankerson (hamstring) has been ruled out for the team's Week 8 matchup against the Tampa Bay Bucanneers. Hankerson was unable to partake in practice any day this week and never had a realistic shot at suiting up this week.
Leonard Hankerson injury update: WR ruled out for Falcons, fantasy owners
The Atlanta Falcons wide receiver has been ruled out for Week 8. We break down the fantasy implications.
Fantasy impact: This isn't a huge loss for fantasy owners. Hankerson only finished two games with over 75 yards receiving and both of his touchdowns came in those two games as well. He hasn't gone over 45 yards receiving in any other contest and has a combined 50 yards receiving and zero touchdowns in the last three weeks. In his absence, veteran Roddy White will be asked to play a bigger role and rookie fourth-round pick Justin Hardy could factor into the mix as well. White hasn't topped 50 yards receiving since Week 1, a six-week stretch that includes two consecutive goose eggs. Despite a juicy match up, neither White nor Hardy will be a recommended fantasy play and Julio Jones will continue to be the focal point of the offense.
