Colin Kaepernick injury update: QB probable for 49ers, fantasy owners
The San Francisco 49ers quarterback is listed as probable for Week 8. We break down the fantasy implications.

Fantasy impact: While the injury won’t prevent Kaepernick from missing time this week, there continues to be speculation that the 49ers will bench him regardless due to his poor play. Through seven games, Kaepernick has thrown for 1,453 yards, six touchdowns and five interceptions. While the numbers don’t seem bench-worthy upon first glance, it’s his lack of feel for the pocket and lack of touch on his passes that have lead to some truly dreadful performances this season.
Since his contract includes injury guarantees, it would make sense for the 49ers to bench him if they feel that someone else gives them a better chance at winning games. Making things worse, the Rams give up the second-fewest fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks. Kaepernick is a bottom-barrel QB2.
