This has to do with how quarterback Drew Brees' shoulder, which seems to be behind him right now. Cooks has been a strong WR2 since Brees has got it going and he seems to be fine going forward, assuming the matchup is right.
The matchup isn’t the best for Cooks this week against Washington. They’re the 15th-toughest matchup for receivers on the season, but there really has been a downward trend in Washington’s effectiveness in stopping receivers.
They have given up five touchdowns to receivers in their last three games.
Fantasy impact: It’s a road game, but Cooks looks like a high-end WR2 this week.
