Matt Forte injury update: RB questionable for Bears, fantasy owners
The Chicago Bears running back is listed as questionable for Week 10. We break down the fantasy implications.
Chicago Bears wide receiver Matt Forte (sprained MCL) is listed as questionable for the team's Week 10 matchup against the St. Louis Rams. Forte was able to participate in practice on a limited basis Wednesday through Friday. Despite the questionable tag, Forte is seen as long shot to return to action this week.
Fantasy impact: The Bears are extremely unlikely to force their star back into action until he's healthy and a one-week hiatus from a sprained MCL is unheard of. With Forte sidelined, rookie Jeremy Langford is in line to make his second start. The fourth-round pick out of Michigan State played well in his first start last week against the San Diego Chargers. He finished with a touchdown and 142 total yards, 70 of which came through the air on three receptions. Equally impressive was that the rookie wasn't a liability picking up the blitz. Langford is in for a tougher matchup against the Rams. Their defense gives up the the 11th-fewest fantasy points to opposing running backs. Owners should fire Langford up as an RB2.
