Fantasy football advice, Week 10: Who to start/sit for Dolphins vs. Eagles
Both of these teams have been surrounded by secondary storylines all season.
Two teams with a whole host of distracting storylines this season, the 4-4 Philadelphia Eagles and the 3-5 Miami Dolphins, face off Sunday. Neither team is out of the question for a playoff spot, though any loss hurts those hopes, and so both need a win in Sunday's game.
The Dolphins have tight end Jordan Cameron on the weekly injury report this week, dealing with a hamstring issue. He's expected to play Sunday. The Eagles have more question marks, with running backs DeMarco Murray and Ryan Mathews and wide receivers Nelson Agholor and Riley Cooper all on the report, though all four are expected to be fine to play Sunday.
The Eagles will host the Dolphins Sunday, with kickoff scheduled for 1 p.m. ET. Let’s take a look at the fantasy names to consider:
DOLPHINS
Start ‘em: Since the team's bye, Lamar Miller has been tremendous, with 21.3 fantasy points a game. ... The only receivers with six-plus fantasy points in every game this season are Alshon Jeffery, Brandon Marshall, Eric Decker and Jarvis Landry.
Start ‘em?: This was supposed to be a leap-forward season for Ryan Tannehill, but outside of a couple of blip games, he just hasn't done a lot. ... Rishard Matthews has been strong all season, though there are a lot of decent receivers in Miami, so he might not continue to get fed. ... The Dolphins' defense hasn't been great this year; the unit has had negative fantasy points five times, and needs the Philadelphia offense to struggle to be worthwhile.
Sit ‘em: The return of Jay Ajayi to health gives an obvious handcuff to Miller, but there isn't much individual fantasy value there. ... Kenny Stills has improved his performance of late, but he needs more to crack fantasy lineups. ... Jordan Cameron hasn't had much to offer since joining the Dolphins. ... Andrews Franks hasn't been much of a fantasy kicker.
EAGLES
Start ‘em: After an awful start to the season, DeMarco Murray has re-established himself as an easy RB1. ... The Eagles’ defense has been strong almost all year; it has 12 points a game over its last four.
Start ‘em?: Behind Murray, there's still been more than enough for Ryan Mathews to perform; he's a flex play with upside. ... Jordan Matthews showed his early-season promise in Week 9 after a bad stretch; he has serious downside, but there's upside as well. ... There isn't any real upside for Zach Ertz, but he does have 20 fantasy points in his last four. At a position where zero is always a real possibility, he's at least giving you something. ... Caleb Sturgis has been really good since becoming the team's kicker.
Sit ‘em: Eight games into the season, and Sam Bradford is averaging barely 12 fantasy points a game. It's been awful. ... Darren Sproles has been left behind in the Philadelphia offense. ... There isn't enough going around for Nelson Agholor, Josh Huff, Riley Cooper or Miles Austin to be regular fantasy performers.
