Matt Jones becomes top fantasy waiver pickup, remains difficult to trust
Running back Matt Jones was the team’s leading receiver in Week 10. We take a look at the fantasy implications.

Jones’ biggest play was a 78-yard touchdown in the second quarter. It was a day in which nearly every skill player on Washington’s offense looked impressive. Quarterback Kirk Cousins threw for 324 yards and four touchdowns against the Saints’ porous secondary.
The game was enough of a debacle to reportedly cost defensive coordinator Rob Ryan his job. Washington will face a tougher challenge in Week 11 when they face the Carolina Panthers.
Fantasy impact: Jones has been an alluring siren for fantasy owners since he broke out in Week 2 with 123 rushing yards and two touchdowns. Since then, Jones didn’t crack 100 all-purpose yards until Sunday’s game. Everything was working for Washington’s offense on Sunday, which typically isn’t the case.
Jones is a very talented running back that can do wonders both as a runner and receiver. However, there isn’t enough to suggest that Sunday’s performance will carry over into the following weeks. He’s worth a stash and is an intriguing dynasty player.
Beyond that, Jones is still an RB4 until he proves he can sustain some value on a weekly basis. He’s owned in nearly 50 percent of Yahoo! leagues.
