Through Week 9, the Texans averaged the most passing attempts per game. Shorts will likely continue seeing plenty of targets despite the ascension of Washington during his absence.
Fantasy impact: The real news here is that Shorts is owned in just eight percent of Yahoo! leagues. Shorts only has one touchdown through five games this season, but his involvement in the passing game warrants a higher ownership percentage.
Shorts is a borderline WR3 particularly during most leagues' fantasy playoffs, when the Texans face the Indianapolis Colts and Tennessee Titans. If you're able to pick him up as a free agent before Monday's kickoff, he's worth a speculative add in all formats.
