San Diego Chargers wide receiver Malcom Floyd stepped up after receiver Keenan Allen exited the game in the second quarter of Sunday's game. Floyd finished the game with four receptions for 92 yards and two touchdowns in a loss to the Baltimore Ravens. Allen was originally believed to be dealing with a shoulder injury, but Chargers beat writer Michael Gehlken is reporting that he was having back spasms. The Chargers are dealing with a banged up group of receivers. Tight end Antonio Gates (knee), receiver Stevie Johnson (shoulder) and Allen (back) will all get an extra day of rest before the team faces the Chicago Bears on Monday night.
Malcom Floyd finds end zone twice in Week 8, Chargers WR widely available on waiver wires
Malcom Floyd came up big in Week 8. We take a look at the fantasy implications.

Fantasy impact: Floyd’s fantasy value will likely depend on who is able to play in Week 9. Johnson returned to Sunday’s game despite a shoulder injury, and Allen’s back isn’t expected to keep him out on Monday. Gates played through his injury as well. However, with everyone at less than 100 percent, Floyd makes for an interesting streaming option for anyone in need of wide receiver help. He’s more of a WR4 option moving forward, but he’s very capable of double-digit numbers in PPR formats, which he’s accomplished four out of eight games this season.
