Derek Carr is lighting up defenses since Oakland’s bye week. We take a look at the fantasy implications.


The Jets are one of the league’s top defenses, and they struggled to create pressure on Carr throughout the game despite blitzing often. Carr was quick to get the ball out of his hands and did not throw an interception in the process.
Through two games, Carr has thrown for 622 yards and seven touchdowns without an interception. He and the Raiders will head to Pittsburgh to face the Steelers in Week 9.
Fantasy impact: Carr has put up strong QB1 numbers since Oakland’s bye week. It’s unclear out sustainable his numbers are moving forward, but the fact that Carr put up huge fantasy numbers against one of the stingiest fantasy defenses out there is a promising development.
Carr is owned in 39 percent of Yahoo! leagues. It’s likely he’s owned in many 12-team leagues or two-quarterback leagues. However, he’s worth owning in all formats if you’re in need of a QB1 right now.
