Atlanta Falcons tight end Jacob Tamme managed an impressive performance despite the team's 23-20 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Tamme finished Sunday's game with 10 receptions for 103 yards and one touchdown. He was targeted 12 times, second only to wide receiver Julio Jones' 13 targets. Tamme benefited from wide receiver Leonard Hankerson being held out of the game as he nurses a hamstring injury. Tamme and the Falcons will face the San Francisco 49ers in Week 9.
Jacob Tamme comes up big in Week 8, makes for risky fantasy waiver grab
Jacob Tamme put up big numbers in Week 8. We take a look at the fantasy implications.

Fantasy impact: As impressive as Tamme’s performance was, he’s a risky option for fantasy purposes. Even if fantasy owners want to stream Tamme against the 49ers, there’s a chance Hankerson could return, which makes Tamme’s number of targets more questionable. After Week 9, the Falcons head into their bye week. Tamme is likely more of a streaming option that may be dependent on opportunities like we saw with Hankerson’s inactive status on Sunday. He can be scooped up off the waiver wire in many leagues, but he’s better off being treated as a TE2 until we see more consistency.
