Chicago Bears running back Matt Forte is dealing with what is believed to be an MCL injury, according to NFL Insider Jay Glazer. Bears head coach John Fox spoke to the media on Monday afternoon, saying that he doesn't believe Forte's injury will be season-ending, according to Bears insider Adam Hoge. If Forte is dealing with a significant MCL tear, his recovery could be anywhere from 4-8 weeks depending on the severity of it. Of course, Fox is remaining tight-lipped on Forte's official status. In the meantime, running back Jeremy Langford is expected to handle lead back duties in Chicago.

Fantasy impact: Forte’s injury is still not confirmed, but a more severe MCL tear could mean that his time frame for recovery extends into many fantasy playoffs. A grade 1 or grade 2 MCL tear could mean that Forte returns in the month of November. Either way, Forte owners should hold him on their rosters until official word surfaces. Langford should be picked up in all formats until Forte heals.
