Fantasy football projections, Week 11: Bengals-Cardinals featuring Andy Dalton, A.J. Green and Carson Palmer
We break down the Week 11 matchup between the Cincinnati Bengals and the Arizona Cardinals.
Cincinnati Bengals
The Houston Texans haven’t allowed a touchdown in over two games now. They walked into Cincinnati last week and held Andy Dalton and his teammates to just six points. The total directly reflected in Dalton’s personal statistics. He was held to just 197 passing yards and also threw an interception in the game. The effort marked the first time this season that Dalton was kept out of the end zone completely and also held under 200 passing yards. Even against an outstanding Arizona Cardinals defense, the Red Rifle should produce better numbers in Week 11.
The same goes for wide receiver A.J. Green. He was held to just five catches for 67 yards against the Texans and has now been held under 80 yards receiving in four of the last five games. Although he was the most productive receiver on either team last week in terms of yards, Green faces a Cardinals defense this week that allows just 223 passing yards per game to opponents this season. He’s a must-start in most fantasy leagues but perhaps he won’t be a top-notch pass catcher against such a tough team.
Arizona Cardinals
Carson Palmer is on fire these days. He marched into Seattle last week and pretty much dominated the Seahawks. He has at least 360 passing yards in three of the last four games. In the last two weeks he has managed to post seven touchdown passes compared to just two interceptions. The Bengals represent another tough test and Palmer will likely need to be in top form in order to keep the Cardinals on a winning path. The good news is that so far there’s nothing to suggest he won’t be at his best no matter who the opponent is come Sunday.
Palmer’s productivity has benefited wide receiver Michael Floyd, who after being virtually invisible during the first five weeks of the season has been lighting it up ever since. This last stretch of four games has produced 19 catches for 328 yards and five touchdowns. The fact he caught seven of nine passes for 113 yards and two touchdowns last week means Floyd is truly playing at his best. That’s scary news for fantasy owners who weren’t quick enough to grab him off of the waiver wire.
