Emmanuel Sanders injury update: WR questionable for Broncos, fantasy owners
The Denver Broncos’ wide receiver is listed as questionable for Week 11. We break down the fantasy implications.
Denver Broncos wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders (ankle, finger) is listed as questionable for the team's Week 11 matchup against the Chicago Bears.
Sanders did not participate in practice on Wednesday before being upgraded to a limited participant in practice on Thursday and Friday. Despite the questionable tag, Sanders is fully expected to suit up on Sunday.
Fantasy impact: Fantasy owners are right to view Sanders with some skepticism after they got burned last week with a goose egg. While the injuries shouldn’t keep him off the field for a second week, the real issue to consider this week is the situation at quarterback.
Future Hall of Famer Peyton Manning was benched last week due to injuries and ineffectiveness (four interceptions, 17 for the season) and has been ruled out for this week. Taking his place is Brock Osweiler, the second-round pick in the 2012 NFL Draft out of Arizona State.
Whether Osweiler will be an upgrade over Manning has yet to be determined, but his inexperience is unlikely to be an asset for Sanders owners. He’ll likely continue to be targeted often, but he’s a mid-range WR2 for the near future.
