Alshon Jeffery injury update: WR questionable for Bears, fantasy owners
The Chicago Bears’ wide receiver is listed as questionable for Week 11. We break down the fantasy implications.
Chicago Bears wide receiver Alshon Jeffery (groin, shoulder) is listed as questionable for the team's Week 11 matchup against the Denver Broncos.
Jeffery was a limited participant on practice on Wednesday before being downgraded to a non-participant on Thursday and Friday. Given that his activity is trending in the wrong dirrection, Jeffery should be seen as less than a 50 percent chance of suiting up on Sunday.
Fantasy impact: If the Bears do choose to rest Jeffery for the week, it won’t be the worst thing for fantasy owners. The Bears played him last week despite his nicks and bruises but chose to manage his snaps. The result was a 3/23 line, his first letdown performance of the season on five games played.
If Jeffery sits this week it will remove the guessing element, and more importantly, ensure that he's healthier for the fantasy playoffs. He'll remain a WR1 against the Broncos stingy defense if active. If he sits, tight end Martellus Bennett and running back Jeremy Langford project as the primary beneficiaries in the passing game.
