Houston Texans head coach Bill O’Brien confirmed on Monday that quarterback Brian Hoyer was cleared from the concussion protocol and will start this week’s game against the New Orleans Saints.
Brian Hoyer cleared to start, will have fantasy upside against Saints defense
Hoyer got cleared after missing Sunday’s game with a concussion and will start in Week 12. We break down the fantasy implications.

Hoyer suffered the concussion during Week 10 and sat out last Sunday’s game. T.J. Yates got the start in his place, leading the Texans to a win over the New York Jets. Hoyer has made seven appearances for Houston this season, completing 59.5 percent of his passes for 1,704 yards, 13 touchdowns and four interceptions.
Fantasy impact: The Texans are 2-0 with Yates under center, but he didn’t do enough to win the starting job for good. Houston will turn back to Hoyer as it tries to make a surprise playoff run at 5-5. Hoyer has been wildly inconsistent this year, but he has an incredible matchup with the Saints’ defense, which is 31st in passing yards per game and gave up 130 points the past three games. Hoyer has QB1 upside in standard fantasy and DFS players can fire him up as one of the top value picks this week.
