It's hard to believe that a quarterback who has two seasons of 4,900 yards on his resume has been reduced to a streaming option, but a slow start to 2015 made Matthew Stafford just that.
Fantasy football start/sit advice, Week 12: Matthew Stafford
The Lions’ signal caller has quietly been a viable fantasy option in recent weeks, despite his team’s struggles. We break down the fantasy implications.

However, fantasy owners would be short-sighted to think that is the case any longer, as the Lions' signal caller has put up QB1 numbers from Week 6 through Week 11, with his highlight being a four-touchdown performance against the Chicago Bears in Week 6. In that six-week span, he has averaged more fantasy points per game than Ben Roethlisberger, Andy Dalton or Russell Wilson.
Fantasy impact: Stafford has another juicy matchup at hand on Thanksgiving afternoon against an Eagles defense that is falling apart at the seams. Jameis Winston and the Buccaneers just tallied five touchdown passes against them, and Matt Cassel tossed three more against them in Week 9 despite struggling in every other matchup.
Though the Lions have had a disastrous season, they have enough talent on offense to cause nightmares for the Eagles’ secondary, and that upside alone should warrant owners to consider getting Stafford in fantasy lineups. He remains a fringe QB1/QB2 for Week 12, but fantasy owners in need of a high ceiling option could do far worse than Stafford.
