Without looking at the giant picture of Brian Hoyer at the top of this post, see if you can solve this bit of trivia about the following quarterbacks:
Fantasy football start/sit advice, Week 12: Brian Hoyer
The Texans’ signal caller will be back under center on Sunday after recovering from a concussion. We break down the fantasy implications.
- QB1 has 3,320 yards, 25 touchdowns and four interceptions
- QB2 has 3,081 yards, 28 touchdowns and four interceptions
The first quarterback is Tom Brady, who leads all quarterbacks in fantasy points scored per game. The second is every quarterback that the New Orleans Saints have faced this season.
As a result, it’s no surprise that fantasy owners who prefer to stream quarterbacks over the course of the season sprinted to the waiver wire to nab Hoyer for Week 12, since he is the next signal caller to have what has been the best matchup a quarterback could ask for in fantasy football.
Fantasy impact: The caveat that fantasy owners have to keep in mind, however, is that Hoyer will be making his first start after a concussion, and the Saints have since moved on from Rob Ryan as their defensive coordinator. Personnel problems still persist for the Saints, which could lead to a nightmare scenario when having to line up across from DeAndre Hopkins.
Prior to suffering his concussion, Hoyer had five straight games of multiple touchdowns, and there’s plenty of reason to believe he will start a new streak on Sunday. Hoyer is a low-end QB1 with plenty of upside for Week 12.
