Michael Floyd injury update: Cardinals WR expected to play, has high fantasy upside
The Cardinals expect to get another one of their talented receivers back into the huddle on Sunday. We break down the fantasy implications.
Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Michael Floyd participated in all three practice sessions for the Arizona Cardinals, according to the team's injury report.
Floyd sat out Week 11's victory over the Cincinnati Bengals with a hamstring injury, and was held out of action after suffering it in Week 10's win over the Seattle Seahawks. His return will give the NFL's top-ranked offense yet another weapon, and it's a potent one that gave the Cardinals five touchdowns over their last four games. Darren Urban of azcardinals.com reported Friday that he expects Floyd to be available Sunday.
Fantasy impact: The caveat to Floyd likely being active is that John Brown is also likely to play after dealing with recent hamstring injuries of his own. Even with the Cardinals offense being a prolific one, there could be too many mouths to feed and be difficult for there to be room for Floyd to produce. He still has plenty of upside in a game script that favors the Cardinals on Sunday, but his floor could be lower than usual.
Floyd remains a solid WR3 option against the San Francisco 49ers, and fantasy owners should not feel discouraged with him in their lineups.
