Travis Kelce injury update: TE questionable for Chiefs, fantasy owners
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end is listed as questionable for Week 12. We break down the fantasy implications.
Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce (groin, ankle) is listed as questionable for the team's Week 12 matchup against the Buffalo Bills.
Kelce trended in the wrong direction in practice this week. He was a full participant on Wednesday and Thursday before being downgraded to a limited participant after tweaking his ankle in Friday’s practice.
The extent of the tweak is currently unknown.
Fantasy impact: This is playing out as a situation where Kelce owners should hope for the best but have a viable backup plan ready to go until further clarification on his fresh injury is provided.
When healthy, Kelce has arguably been a top-five tight end in PPR formats. He’s only finished two games under five receptions this season which provides owners with a comfortable floor.
While a few more targets never hurts, his end zone production is his main fantasy gripe. He’s only found pay dirt three times and once since Week 1.
Even if healthy, owners who have the luxury of another TE1 on their roster should continue to monitor the situation but consider making the switch this week in a tough matchup against Buffalo’s eighth-ranked defense against tight ends.
