The Indianapolis Colts are getting a little thin with their offensive weapons. Quarterback Andrew Luck missing time and possibly out for the season has forced the team to change its identity and now they're leaning on veteran running back Frank Gore more.
Fantasy football start/sit, Week 12: Frank Gore could be focal point
The Colts don’t have a great passing attack these days, so Frank Gore could get a lot of carries. We break down the fantasy implications.
In his last three games, he averaged 21.3 carries per game and he also added nine receptions in that span, too. This week, the Colts get a so-so matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Colts are at home and Gore is going up against the 11th-toughest match for fantasy running backs. The Bucs are also doing a fantastic job of keeping backs out of the end zone with no rushing touchdowns allowed to backs in any game since Week 3.
Fantasy impact: He probably won’t be lighting it up this week because the Colts just don’t have a high-powered offense these days, so that makes Gore a low-end RB2 this week. If you have high-upside options, you might want to use those unless you only need a handful of points.
