UPDATE (2:47 p.m. ET): According to ESPN’s Dianna Marie Russini, Rob Gronkowski’s knee injury is a bruise and not a tear, and his availability will be determined from week-to-week.
Rob Gronkowski ‘going to be OK’ after hit, per report; fantasy outlook brightening
The Patriots appear to have survived a major injury scare on Sunday night. We break down the fantasy implications.

New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski is "going to be OK," according to a source of ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Gronkowski took a nasty hit to his knee during Sunday night's loss to the Denver Broncos and was subsequently carted off the field. However, Gronkowski was seen walking out of the X-ray room, indicating that the injury may not have been as bad as it had initially looked. Before leaving the game, Gronkowski led a depleted group of pass catchers with six receptions, 88 yards and a touchdown.
Fantasy impact: Gronkowski will have an MRI on Monday that will tell the tale on the severity of his injury, but it appears that the Patriots have dodged a major bullet. With Julian Edelman out for the remainder of the regular season and with Danny Amendola also ailing, the Patriots were down to Brandon LaFell, Chris Harper and Keshawn Martin at receiver.
For now, his fantasy owners will just have to wait for more details to emerge before determining his status the rest of the season, however, it can be expected for Scott Chandler to have a major role if Gronkowski is absent for any period of time. If Gronkowski is in the lineup at full capacity, he is fantasy football's top tight end option.
