Arizona Cardinals running back Chris Johnson is dealing with a fractured tibia, according to Fox Sports’ Jay Glazer. The team has yet to determine how long Johnson will be out, but Glazer notes that he will miss an “extended period of time.”
Chris Johnson reportedly has fractured tibia, increasing fantasy value of David Johnson
CJ2K will miss significant time with a fractured tibia. We break down the fantasy implications.

Johnson suffered the injury during Sunday’s Week 12 win over the San Francisco 49ers. He left in the third quarter after taking a helmet to the knee. The initial diagnosis was a bruised bone on the knee, but a fractured tibia is obviously far more serious. Johnson has never missed a game due to injury in his NFL career, but he could end up missing the rest of the regular season.
Fantasy impact: Andre Ellington was the immediate replacement for Johnson, but he was also forced out of the game and is dealing with a toe injury. That leaves David Johnson as the next man up for the Cardinals’ road date with the St. Louis Rams this week. David Johnson has been a home run hitter in limited action this year, scoring seven touchdowns on just 54 touches. He needs to be added in all fantasy leagues and has RB2 upside against a struggling Rams defense.
