Atlanta Falcons receiver Leonard Hankerson will not play against the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday. He did not practice all week, has been dealing with an injury since Oct. 16, and also aggravated it on Oct. 25.
Leonard Hankerson injury update: Ruled out for Week 9, Jacob Tamme has fantasy value
Leonard Hankerson is not going to play on Sunday. We break down the fantasy implications.
This was the second week Hankerson could not practice, but he might be able to play in their next game with a Week 10 bye. Hankerson was off to a nice start this season, but he has fizzled out recently.
With Hankerson out and receiver Roddy White not himself, there should be a lot of targets up for grabs. The Falcons are using their running backs in the passing game, but perhaps the biggest beneficiary is tight end Jacob Tamme. Last week, Tamme put up 10 catches for 103 yards and one score on his 12 targets.
Fantasy impact: There isn’t really much of a need to stash Hankerson for two weeks in most leagues. Tammy is a mid-level TE1 this week.
