Austin Seferian-Jenkins injury update: TE questionable for Buccaneers, fantasy owners
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end is listed as questionable for Week 9. We break down the fantasy implications.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins (shoulder) is listed as questionable for the team's Wee 9 matchup against the New York Giants. ASJ was a limited participant in practice Wednesday and Thursday before being upgraded to a full participant on Friday. Despite the questionable tag, he has a very good chance of suiting up on Sunday.
Fantasy impact: If ASJ is active on Sunday, he'll be worthy of starting consideration. In his only healthy game of the season back in Week 1, he lit up the Tennessee Titans to the tune of five receptions for 110 yards and two touchdowns. The two scores matched his entire season total from his 2014 rookie year. In addition to the tons of athletic upside he offers, matchups don't get much better than the Giants. Their defense gives up the second most fantasy points to opposing tight ends. New Orleans Saints tight end Benjamin Watson lit them up in last week's epic shootout to the tune of 10 receptions for 147 yards and one touchdown. If active, ASJ offers TE1 upside. Owners need to continue to monitor the situation up until game time.
