Philadelphia Eagles running back Ryan Mathews (groin) is listed as questionable for the team's Week 9 matchup against the Dallas Cowboys. Mathews was a limited participant in practice on Wednesday, then was downgraded to a non-participant on Thursday, and then was upgraded to a full participant on Friday. Despite the roller coaster week of practice, Mathews is fully expected to suit up on Sunday.
Ryan Mathews injury update: RB questionable for Eagles, fantasy owners
The Philadelphia Eagles’ running back is listed as questionable for Week 9. We break down the fantasy implications.
Fantasy impact: Despite the fact that Mathews has only received more than 10 carries in one game back in Week 3, he has still managed to remain fantasy relevant. He has two touchdowns in the last three weeks and was three yards shy of 100 yards rushing last week against the Carolina Panthers on only six carries. The injury prone back still has plenty of juice left in the tank, but he'll continue to be hard for fantasy owners to trust as long as DeMarco Murray remains in the mix with his 14.7 carries per game average. Despite the favorable matchup in the Cowboys (seventh most fantasy points allowed to opposing running backs), Mathews remains an RB3.
