Dez Bryant injury update: WR probable for Cowboys, fantasy owners
The Dallas Cowboys’ wide receiver is listed as probable for Week 9. We break down the fantasy implications.
Fantasy impact: After last week's disappointing yet foreseeable outcome of two receptions for 12 yards on limited snaps against Richard Sherman, owners should look for Bryant to have a nice bounce back game. The injury was an uncommon occurrence for Bryant, who hadn't missed a game in three previous seasons. The electric playmaker finished last season with 88 receptions for 1,320 yards and an absurd 16 touchdowns. He's averaging 13.7 touchdowns over the last three seasons and the Cowboys will have to lean on him heavily if they want to have a shot at remaining in the playoff hunt by the time that quarterback Tony Romo returns. He shouldn't have much trouble dealing with Philadelphia's secondary, who gives up the eighth most fantasy points to opposing wide receivers. While Matt Cassel somewhat caps his upside, Bryant remains a no-brainer WR1 play.
