Editor’s note: Ian Rapoport tweeted that Watkins will play, but his snap count could potentially be limited.
Sammy Watkins injury update: Fantasy value should be back this week
Sammy Watkins is back. We break down the fantasy implications.
Buffalo Bills receiver Sammy Watkins (ankle) is listed as questionable for Sunday against the Dolphins. He did not practice on Friday and said he will "definitely" play, according to ESPN's Mike Rodak.
Yes, a player saying they will play is worth something, but it's not a guarantee. The Bills certainly need him in a big divisional matchup after missing him most of last month. The Bills will also have quarterback Tyrod Taylor in the lineup.
Watkins did also have a minor setback to his ankle on Thursday, so he's a game-time decision at best. Even if he does play, there's a good chance he'll be limited. The Bills are also without receiver Percy Harvin, so receiver Robert Woods could be very busy.
Fantasy impact: You probably do not want to start Watkins this week. He is far from 100 percent and he has aggravated multiple injuries in his career. Woods is also just a desperation play in a 16-team league.
