Carolina Panthers wide receiver Devin Funchess was instrumental in the team's 37-29 win over the Green Bay Packers in Week 9. Funchess caught three passes for 71 yards and a touchdown. The touchdown was Funchess' first in a slow start to his rookie season.
Devin Funchess emerges Week 9, worth waiver look in deep fantasy leagues
Devin Funchess had a pretty good week. We take a look at the fantasy implications.

Heading into Sunday's game, Funchess had just 90 receiving yards for the season. Quarterback Cam Newton needs someone other than tight end Greg Olsen to step up consistently on the Panthers' offense.
It remains to be seen if Funchess can make an impact down the stretch, but Sunday's performance was a promising one. The Panthers head to Tennessee to face the Titans in Week 10.
Fantasy impact: Many hoped that Funchess would provide a spark to Carolina's offense after receiver Kelvin Benjamin tore his ACL in training camp. The team is without any sort of true No. 1 at the wide receiver position.
Fantasy owners hoped Funchess had enough upside as a second-round pick in 2015. He has yet to deliver. Sunday’s game wasn’t quite a breakout performance, but the fact remains that the Panthers are waiting for someone to take a bigger role in the receiving game.
Funchess is available in most fantasy leagues. He’s worth scooping up as a flier moving forward. He’s a WR5 showing more potential than ever for the last half of the season.
