James Starks leads Packers’ backfield, once again on waiver wire radar
James Starks outplayed Eddie Lacy in Week 9. We take a look at the fantasy implications.

Lacy continues to disappoint. He’s averaging 38.5 yards rushing per game and has just two touchdowns through eight games. Starks has been picking up the slack, but the Packers aren’t particularly effective running the ball in general. For now, it appears as though Starks will continue as the team’s RB1 with Lacy operating as more of a “1B” until he can generate some momentum.
Fantasy impact: Fantasy owners are at a point where neither running back can be counted on. However, Starks has proven to offer the better chance for a big week. Lacy owners should keep him on their bench moving forward. Starks is owned in 39 percent of Yahoo! leagues. He should be owned in all 12-team leagues. The Packers face the Detroit Lions in Week 10. Starks will be a flex option and Lacy more of an emergency RB3 despite the great matchup.
