Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning resumed throwing and performed drill work on Thursday, according to Troy E. Renck of The Denver Post.
Peyton Manning increases activity, remains an unlikely fantasy factor for rest of season
The veteran quarterback resumed throwing and did light drills on Thursday. We break down the fantasy implications.

Manning has not played or practiced since Nov. 15 after throwing four interceptions against the Kansas City Chiefs, and has since continued to recover from a torn plantar fascia. His light activity indicates that he is inching closer to the practice field, but it remains to be seen if he would reclaim his starting spot upon a clean bill of health. The Broncos are 3-0 in games Osweiler started, and don't have any reason to fix their lineup if it isn't broken.
Fantasy impact: Even if Manning were to return, his full recovery is still likely weeks away since Week 14 is near, and he still has not seen the practice field since becoming injured. With the fantasy playoffs under way in most leagues, even if Manning returned, it would be difficult for owners to trust him now that one loss would effectively end their seasons.
Manning can be safely left on the waiver wire for the remainder of the season, while Osweiler remains a middling QB2 option for Week 14's game against the Raiders.
