Baltimore Ravens quarterback Matt Schaub is not practicing Friday, according to Jeff Zrebiec of The Baltimore Sun.
Matt Schaub not practicing Friday, Seahawks defense a prime fantasy option
The Ravens will likely have to start recently-acquired Jimmy Clausen under center on Sunday in a tough matchup. We break down the fantasy implications.
It marks the third straight practice Schaub has missed since suffering shoulder and leg injuries against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday, and further indicates that Jimmy Clausen will get the start against the Seattle Seahawks. Clausen had already faced the Seahawks this season as a member of the Chicago Bears, and completed 9 of 17 passes for 63 yards and an interception as his team got shut out on the road.
Fantasy impact: To fantasy owners who have the Seattle Seahawks defense, congratulations. They instantly have the highest floor of any defensive unit in fantasy football, even in the unlikely event that Schaub starts. With the Seahawks defense peaking at the right point of the season, an offense without Joe Flacco, Steve Smith and Justin Forsett would have an uphill battle to say the very least.
Neither Schaub nor Clausen presents fantasy upside for Week 14, and both should be left on waiver wires in fantasy leagues of all formats.
