Detroit Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson did not practice on Friday in order to rest his ankle but he’s still expected to start against the St. Louis Rams on Sunday, according to beat writer Tim Twentymen. He’s been on the injury report for the past month but has played in every single game.
Calvin Johnson held out of practice on Friday, still expected to be ready for fantasy start
Detroit Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson did not practice on Friday thanks to an injured ankle. We break down the fantasy implications.

Fantasy impact: Megatron will definitely play against the St. Louis Rams. Beat writers and coaches have confirmed that. Fantasy owners have to wonder, however, if his injured ankle is partially responsible for the fact Johnson has had a subpar season.
That’s debatable. What isn’t debatable is that the Lions have underachieved as a team this year. Quarterback Matthew Stafford has looked very much pedestrian in 2015, and as a result, Johnson just hasn’t put together the monster performances we are used to seeing from him on a regular basis.
The one thing the Lions do have going for them is that the team’s defense has been on a roll the last couple of weeks and St. Louis can’t do anything offensively. That means Johnson and company should see plenty of time on the field as the Rams will probably be punting the ball away a lot this week.
