The Texans are now preparing to start T.J. Yates for Sunday's pivotal game against the Indianapolis Colts, per Rapoport's report. It marks Hoyer's second concussion in the span of a month since suffering one against the Cincinnati Bengals, and it is unknown how long he will remain in the NFL's protocol. Hoyer has already missed one game due to a concussion this season, and having another so close in proximity to his first does not bode well for his Week 15 availability.
Fantasy impact: Hoyer would have been an attractive streaming option against a Colts defense that just got manhandled by an up and coming Jaguars offense, but Yates at the helm doesn't inspire much confidence even in a plus matchup. There will now be an uphill battle for DeAndre Hopkins to produce, although Hopkins managed to do so with a 5/118/2 line while Yates was under center against the Jets in Week 11.
Fantasy owners who are fortunate enough to make it this deep into the fantasy season likely won’t have to weigh the option of starting Yates at quarterback. He will be a middling QB2 for Week 15.
