Detroit Lions tight end Brandon Pettigrew is out for the season with a torn ACL, according to ESPN's Michael Rothstein. Pettigrew exited Sunday's game against the St. Louis Rams during the second quarter. Tight end Eric Ebron finished the game with three receptions for 27 yards. Ebron has been relatively quiet in the second half of the season. Some of his stronger games were when Pettigrew was sidelined for the first four games of the season. Whether or not Ebron can step up in the midst of more significant snaps remains to be seen, but Week 15 is as good an opportunity as any. The Lions will be facing the New Orleans Saints.
Fantasy football waiver wire: Eric Ebron could see role increased with Brandon Pettigrew out for season
Eric Ebron should see his role expand with Brandon Pettigrew out. We take a look at the fantasy implications.

Fantasy impact: Ebron didn't have an impressive stat line against the Rams, but it was a strange night for the Lions' offense. For instance, wide receiver Calvin Johnson had a worse stat line than Ebron on Sunday. If Pettigrew's absence can give Ebron's snap count a meaningful edge, he'll be a TE1 streamer against the Saints. Fantasy owners that are dealing with injuries at the position may want to consider starting Ebron if they're running out of options. Ebron is owned in just 22 percent of Yahoo! leagues.
