New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski will not play until he is 100 percent, according to an announcement he made on Bleacher Report.
Rob Gronkowski will play when he is ‘100 percent,’ per report; fantasy owners must explore other options
The injuries continue to pile up for what was once a potent New England Patriots offense. We break down the fantasy implications.

“I am thankful that it is nothing serious,” Gronkowski said via Bleacher Report’s Uninterrupted. “I’m just week-to-week. I’ll be working hard to get back out on the field as soon as possible. When I am 100 percent, feeling good, cleared by all the doctors, the team, that is when I will be back. There’s no timetable for that.”
With the Patriots sitting at 10-1, the team has that luxury of not rushing him back into action prematurely, although they now have the Denver Broncos and the Cincinnati Bengals on their heels for home-field advantage throughout the playoffs. If the Patriots lose their lead on the No. 1 seed in the next week or two, it will be interesting to see how they handle Gronkowski.
Fantasy impact: With the fantasy playoffs close by, Gronkowski's injury is a crushing blow for fantasy owners who need to make that last-minute push to clinch a playoff spot. Scott Chandler will start in his place, and he saw an expanded role in Week 12 with Julian Edelman and Danny Amendola out of action.
Chandler will be on the TE1 radar until Gronkowski returns, but for now, Gronkowski’s fantasy owners have no choice but to weather the storm during the precious few weeks left before the fantasy playoffs.
