Freeman sustained his concussion early in Week 11's loss to the Indianapolis Colts, and was subsequently held out of action in Week 12 against the Minnesota Vikings. But now, the Falcons' budding star will rejoin the team in practice and will suit up on Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, barring any setback. Tevin Coleman, who rushed for 110 yards in Freeman's absence, will likely have a complementary role.
Fantasy impact: It’s a sigh of relief for Freeman’s fantasy owners who are pushing for a spot in the playoffs after essentially going two whole games without his robust contributions. Even in a difficult matchup against the Buccaneers, Freeman’s usage will be enough for him to be a viable fantasy option once again. Freeman totaled 131 yards against the Buccaneers in their previous meeting.
As the fantasy season comes to a close, owners can take comfort knowing they can plug in Freeman without hesitation in Week 13. He is a high-end RB1.
