Fantasy football projections, Week 15: Chiefs-Ravens featuring Jeremy Maclin, Kamar Aiken and Javorius Allen
We break down the Week 15 matchup between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Baltimore Ravens.
Kansas City Chiefs
In what turned out to be a low-scoring affair last week against the San Diego Chargers, wide receiver Jeremy Maclin still put up respectable totals. He caught six passes on nine targets for 68 receiving yards against the Chargers. While the performance represented a far cry from what Maclin had been able to do in the previous two games, he should be able to get back in the end zone against a Ravens defense that has allowed the fourth-most fantasy points to wide receivers this season.
When Kansas City turns to the ground game, Charcandrick West is likely going to be the running back carrying the load, not Spencer Ware. Ware is questionable with a rib injury. If West is indeed the go-to guy, he should easily see 20 or more touches against Baltimore on Sunday. The thing is, Baltimore has been good at limiting running backs this season. Fantasy owners gambling on upside may or may not be disappointed in Week 15.
Baltimore Ravens
Wide receiver Kamar Aiken may not be regarded as a fantasy superstar, but he’s proven that he can be a consistent contributor in PPR formats. Last week he caught five passes for 90 yards against a stout Seattle Seahawks defense. Aiken will continue to get looks in the offense by default as the Ravens evaluate talent going into the 2016 season. It’ll be interesting to see how the long-awaited debut of Breshad Perriman next year will impact Aiken’s status within the offense.
Aiken’s efforts on Sunday will be aided by teammate bUCK Allen. Allen only rushed for 14 yards against the Seahawks last week and he also fumbled the football. It’s become quite clear that most of his value comes in PPR leagues. Even in a subpar performance against Seattle, he still caught four out of five passes for 44 yards receiving. Allen should fare much better against the Chiefs this week.
