Kansas City Cheifs tight end Travis Kelce (groin) is officially active for the team's Week 16 matchup against the Cleveland Browns. Kelce was a full participant in practice every day this week and was never in any real danger of sitting this one out.
Travis Kelce injury update: TE active for Chiefs, fantasy owners
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end is active for Week 16. We break down the fantasy implications.
Fantasy impact: After his monster game back in Week 1, Kelce’s sophomore campaign hasn’t quite materialized into the breakout campaign that owners envisioned when they drafted him. Since Week 1, Kelce has only hauled in two touchdowns and gone over 80 yards receiving twice, never once hitting the century mark again. While he’s definitely got his role carved out in the offense, it’s not quite big enough to provide owners with the consistent TE1 production that he’s capable of. He’s had at least four receptions in all but three games making him more valuable in PPR formats. He’ll have a tougher matchup to deal with in the Browns who actually allow the 11th-fewest fantasy points to opposing tight ends. Kelce remains in the TE1 conversation but owners chasing upside may want to consider other options.
