San Francisco 49ers running back Shaun Draughn (knee) has been ruled out for the team's Week 16 matchup against the Detroit Lions. Draughn was unable to participate in practice at all this week and never had a realistic chance at suiting up this week.
Shaun Draughn injury update: RB inactive for 49ers, fantasy owners
The San Francisco 49ers running back has been ruled out for Week 16. We break down the fantasy implications.
Fantasy impact: The 49ers will turn to the committee approach to replace Draughn. The timeshare will include Kendall Gaskins, DuJuan Harris and full back Bruce Miller. Gaskins currently projects as the lead back of the three but his value is somewhat what capped by an uncertain workload and that fact that the 49ers seem to prefer Bruce Miller as their goal line back. He vultured a touchdown last week and could easily turn into a Mike Tolbert type of goal line specialist. Detroit doesn't pose much of a defensive threat as their defense allows the 14th-most fantasy points to opposing running backs. Gaskins provides the best bet of the three as a low floor option who will see a few targets in the passing game but owners in need of an RB play should scour the waiver wire first before turning to the 49ers back field.
