Washington head coach Jay Gruden will discuss with his staff whether to play Kirk Cousins in a game with little meaning, according to Liz Clarke of the Washington Post.
Washington could limit Kirk Cousins in Week 17, should be on fantasy benches
Washington could turn to Colt McCoy for the majority of Week 17’s game against the Dallas Cowboys. We break down the fantasy implications.

Washington is locked into the NFC's No. 4 seed and will be facing a 4-11 Dallas Cowboys team that is already eliminated from contention. Now, Gruden will have to perform a balancing act that includes keeping his players sharp for a potential playoff run, as well as preserving their health in a game that has no impact on their status for the playoffs.
Via The Washington Post:
Asked if he’d consider limiting quarterback Kirk Cousins’ snaps against Dallas as a precaution, even if healthy, Gruden said he’d discuss the decision with his staff.
“If he’s injury-free, a lot will depend on who’s playing around him,” Gruden said. “We’ll make a decision and go forward.”
Fantasy impact: It is likely that Cousins is active on Sunday due to the tricky nature of Robert Griffin III’s situation, and Washington would be foolish to go into any game with only one quarterback dressed. But with meaningless snaps on the horizon, fantasy owners should be prepared to see Cousins yanked from action early, if he plays at all.
Because Week 17 won’t be business as usual for a team that no longer has control of its playoff seeding, Cousins needs to be placed on benches in leagues of all formats.
