Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid may choose to rest his starters on Sunday, according to ESPN's Adam Teicher.
Chiefs may rest starters Sunday, per report; fantasy owners need backup plans
A Broncos victory on Monday night would mean the Chiefs can’t win the AFC West. We break down the fantasy implications.

The Chiefs have clinched a playoff spot, but the Denver Broncos could secure the division Monday night with a victory over the Cincinnati Bengals. A Broncos loss puts the Chiefs in contention for the AFC West crown, and would give extra meaning to the Chiefs' Week 17 contest against the Oakland Raiders. If the Broncos clinch the AFC West, the Chiefs would still not be locked into their seeding and could fall to No. 6 with a Week 17 loss and a New York Jets win.
Fantasy impact: Reid has “wiggle room,” as described by Teicher’s report, but no matter what the Broncos do on Monday night, the Chiefs will have seeding to gain or lose. That makes it difficult to envision Reid would rest his starters, but Teicher’s information gives reason to believe he could.
Fantasy owners with stock in the Chiefs’ offense will have to keep a close eye on practice reports throughout the week, but if the Broncos lose then it would be certain that Reid plays all of his starters in hopes of getting a home playoff game.
