Cincinnati Bengals tight end Tyler Eifert is not practicing Thursday, according to The Cincinnati Enquirer's Paul Dehner.
Tyler Eifert sits second straight practice, fantasy outlook dimming
The Bengals may go into Sunday without one of their offense’s biggest weapons. We break down the fantasy implications.
Eifert also missed Wednesday's practice due to a stinger that took him out of Week 12's victory over the St. Louis Rams. Though it was reported by ESPN's Adam Schefter that Eifert suffered no structural damage, the fact that he has missed two practices does not bode well for his Sunday availability. Tyler Kroft would get the start in the event Eifert cannot take the field.
Fantasy impact: Missing Wednesday and Thursday does not necessarily mean that Eifert won't play, but fantasy owners must at least have a backup option ready to go. Friday's practice will ultimately shed more light on Eifert's status, but it's entirely possible that the Bengals play it safe and decide they don't need him on the field to beat the reeling Cleveland Browns. Fantasy owners would hate this, since Eifert caught three touchdown passes the last time these teams met.
Eifert would be a TE1 if he plays at his usual capacity, but as of Thursday, fantasy owners don’t have much reason to assume that he will.
