Atlanta Falcons running back Devonta Freeman is practicing Thursday, according to ESPN's Vaughn McClure.
Devonta Freeman cleared for contact in practice, can be placed in fantasy lineups
The Falcons’ starting running back will be back in the huddle after recovering from a concussion. We break down the fantasy implications.
Freeman was bounced from action in Week 11 after suffering a concussion against the Indianapolis Colts and also had to sit out Sunday's loss to the Minnesota Vikings. However, he returned to the Falcons on Wednesday to practice at a limited basis, and he is now taking contact. Barring any unexpected setback, Freeman will resume his post as the Falcons' starting running back on Sunday.
Fantasy impact: It's welcome news for Freeman's fantasy owners, who will undoubtedly prefer to have him in their lineups than not as the playoffs near. Even facing a Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense that is allowing few fantasy points to opposing running backs, Freeman could have a repeat of his 131-yard performance the last time these two teams met.
Freeman remains in the high-end RB1 conversation for leagues of all formats on Sunday. Fantasy owners can comfortably plug him back into their lineups.
