Atlanta Falcons running back Devonta Freeman (concussion) is officially active for the team's Week 13 matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Freeman was limited in practice on Wednesday before being upgraded to a full participant on Thursday and Friday. Freeman should see the majority workload out of the backfield, with running back Tevin Coleman heading back to the bench.
Devonta Freeman injury update: RB active for Falcons, fantasy owners
The Atlanta Falcons running back is active for Week 13. We break down the fantasy implications.
Fantasy impact: One of the biggest fantasy surprises of the season, fantasy owners should expect to get a big boost upon Freeman’s return. He’s averaging 118.4 total yards per game (42 through the air) and has already found the end zone 11 times. Having already gone over 100 total yards six times, he’ll be an excellent bet to pick up where he left off. Despite the fact the the Bucs have a solid run defense (eighth-fewest fantasy points allowed to opposing running backs), it didn’t stop Freeman from shredding them the first time the played in Week 8 to the tune of 88 yards rushing on 21 carries and 43 yards receiving on six receptions. Freeman remains an elite RB1.
